Check this out, it's very very cool. I'm sure it can be adapted into a very efficient control for aiming. Or movement, or anything! Gestures, whatever and it's really simple.
I saw this video a while ago - very cool. The guy who made it (Johnny Lee) was one of the lead developers of the Kinect and we heard him speak here at Stanford last month.
