Here are some pictures of our first 3d FDM print which includes most of the back portion of the gun, minus the place for the touchpad above the grip.
Some of our observations:
1) Everything is bigger than it seems. Our recoil housing is currently way too big, so we're going to continue to refine it. The basic shape and support is good though.
2) The shell doesn't have to be too thick. I made them 0.2 inches (~0.5 cm), and that was way too thick. It can be less than half of that.
3) The snap fitting of male and female pieces works well, but your prototype's screw enclosure is probably better for easier opening and closing.
4) Recoil works pretty crazily at 9V. (maybe too much?)
