Our survey showed that gamers care very little about the individual look of a controller. Also to achieve a truly custom look, you can’t just order a bunch of parts from a website. Customisation of a controller was mostly understood in the context of ergonomics. According to the survey results, adding weights and adjusting certain dimensions is believed to contribute to a very good controller. However, many expressed concern that they wouldn’t know which parts to choose without having first used the default controller. Many gamers simply wouldn’t invest their time and effort in selecting optimal parts. This means that the default should fit all sizes and be all-round awesome in several ways. One clear need (in perhaps the average non-hardcore gamers) that can be recognized is the need for a reliable basic controller that allows the gamer to concentrate on the game instead of the device.
