Android Layout

Making some of the buttons part of the touchscreen would save us a lot of space. Less wires and less mechanisms. Placing these functions next to the touch input makes sense, because this way you'll be able to fire your weapon, throw your grenades and aim down your sight while you're jumping, crouching and proning. We can add some haptic separation between the touch and the buttons with some sticks or so.

Can the CS men make this happen? Is it very complicated? Please comment.

Optical mouse and touch pad experiment

We tried is it possible to use optical mouse's camera for pointing aiming. Background of this was that we heard about a project where they made optical mouse's camera working so that it's possible to point any where and it move the cursor in the PC.

We get it working with arduino so that we get X and Y coordinates but we didn't get the picture out of the camera (video).

However, even if we are able to get optical mouse's camera working as a pointing device the biggest issue is that the camera only recognizes movement to certain distance, otherwise we will need automatic zoom or something.

Another thing what we tried this week was to get touch pad recognize finger gestures.
